Shandong Industrial Ceramics Research and Design Institute (called Shandong Institute of Industrial Ceramics for short) dates back to the year 1950, when the first building materials research institute- InstituteofNorthern China CeramicsCompany was built inChinawhich became Building Materials Research Institute afterwards.
Approved by State Construction Commission in September 1970, one portion of the members in Building Materials Research Institute ceramics studio 1, ceramic materials room and thermal workshop formed a "ceramic team 1" and moved to Zibo, Shandong Province. In October 1971, approved by Revolutionary Committee ofShandongProvince,ShandongIndustrial Ceramic Research Institute was established. On August 12th1985, State Bureau of Building Materials Academy gave official approval to the institute to remodel. On July 1st1999, our institute transformed from scientific institution into enterprise and became one part of China National Nonmetallic Minerals Industrial Corporation (now renamed as China National Materials Group Co., Ltd.). As an initiator in December 2000, Shandong Industrial Ceramics Research and Design Institute found Shandong Zhongbo Advanced Materials Co., Ltd. In 2004, the Shandong Industrial Ceramics Research and Design Institute and Sino-Africa nonlabor crystal research Institute used Shandong Zhongbo Advanced Materials Co., Ltd. as a platform for the implementation of strategic asset reorganization and changed its name to Sinoma Advanced Materials Co., Ltd., and the surviving part of Shandong Industrial Ceramics Research and Design Institute achieved hosting. Due to restructuring in September 2010, Shandong Industrial Ceramics Research and Design Institute changed its name to Shandong Industrial Ceramics Research and Design Institute Co., Ltd.
As the only state-level research institute, industrial ceramics, we always stand in the forefront of industry, science and technology, leading the development direction ofChina's advanced ceramic materials technology and industry, creating precedents for research areas. Our institute is a national innovative enterprise, theNationalIndustrialCeramicEngineeringTechnologyCenter, a supporting institution of National Ceramic Industry Standardization Technical Committee (SAC / TC194), and aninternally controlled technical unitof the international ISO / TC206 Fine Ceramics Technology Committee.
Relying on innovation platform, our institute ranked first in many fields inChina. The first continuous boron nitride fiber, the first glass steel roller kiln quartz ceramic roller, the first set of high temperature and pressure coal ash filter, the first one million volt pillar insulators used in UHV AC pilot project were all produced here.
For decades, our institute forms seven disciplines: a high-performance wave-transparent ceramic materials, anti-insulation ceramic materials, special ceramic fibers, special functional coatings, advanced ceramics precision processing technology, high-temperature ceramic membrane equipment, utilization of industrial solid waste. We build four innovative platforms for key and common technology research, detection and evaluation, standardization and engineering transformation. We hatch four industries-microcrystalline alumina, fused quartz, and high-voltage and high-temperature ceramic membrane equipment. Our institute has assumed the national "863" program in succession, national research and defense technology research projects over a hundred items. We won national awards nine times and provincial awards over one hundred items; we have 93 patents; we presided and revised 43 national and industry standards formulations. Among more than ten new materials, nearly 100 kinds of new products, over 20 items were listed as state-level new products and filled the gap and made a significant contribution to the building materials industry and defense industry special supporting ceramic materials.
