氮化硅陶瓷轧辊具有较好的韧性，很高的硬度和耐磨性，以及非常高的高温抗氧化性，应用于不锈钢带泊材、铜泊冷轧压延，实现高耐磨性、高光洁度的极薄板带泊材的压延。氮化硅陶瓷维氏硬度是钢的2倍以上，杨氏模量是高速钢轧辑的1.5倍以上，相比钢系轧辑，可以轧制更薄的板带泊材。因为压延材料不会粘结在陶瓷轧辊表面，所以可以得到更高的表面光洁度。相比高速钢轧辊，可以实现超长时间的连续运行。密度是高速钢的一半以下，使轧辊的重量大幅减轻，从而实现轻松换辊。
