Dear Madam / Sir,
I got info about your company from Mr. Pascale Couture, who contacted you some time ago regarding the search for alternative supplier for one of the key components used in the probes we are manufacturing in our plant Sosnowiec, Poland – the Zirconia tip.
I’d like you to look at the attached drawing which trial batch we want to order (5-10pcs.).
A few notes regarding the working conditions and our requirements for quality control:
This is a measuring component. Not only its mechanical properties are important, but also the quality of the base material (Yttria stabilized Zirconia MZ429).
The part is working in an oxygen probe. The working temperature is approx.. 930°C.
It is exposed to thermal shock. We test the complete probes in a furnace which is heat up to 800-900°C. The probe is inserted fast into the furnace, so we are talking about switching from room temperature to furnace temperature in a matter of seconds.
We are using dye-test on incoming inspection to verify the parts for potential cracks which disqualify it for further use. We would like you to implement this step in your end control to ensure we are receiving 100% crack-free deliveries.
The laser print which is called-upon on the drawing is for traceability. If you prefer a different method then we are open for discussion, but we need the parts to be marked. Our current supplier uses for example AA001-AA100 (lot AA, 100pcs. in lot). It may be something similar, but we must be able to differentiate between suppliers.
